Ten Years of Compassionate Care and Smarter Systems
Imagine an agency born to revolutionize case management — simplifying practices, streamlining daily operations, and enhancing the lives of both contracted case managers and Medicaid members. That's Blue Sky.
In late February 2014, visionary co-founders Joseph MacDonald, Tara Clarkson, Ashlee Morgan, and Chris Lanham combined their expertise to forge a progressive, social services culture that set new standards in the industry. With a groundbreaking mobile system and cutting-edge IT innovations, Blue Sky has not only redefined high-care agencies but also sculpted the perfect work-life balance for case management contractors.
Skyrocketing Success: Blue Sky's Milestone Moment
In just six months, on August 1st, 2014, Blue Sky soared above hundreds of applicants to secure a coveted spot in XLerateHealth's prestigious 3-month entrepreneurial and business accelerator program, specifically designed for healthcare startups. Through this incredible opportunity, Blue Sky gained invaluable guidance from top-tier healthcare industry professionals, solidifying its innovative virtual teaming and unique business model. This program validated Blue Sky's mission to revolutionize the delivery of social services for individuals with developmental disabilities in Kentucky.
Setting New Standards in Healthcare
Harnessing the power of paperless systems and a groundbreaking approach to case management, Blue Sky achieved a significant milestone on October 22nd, 2014. The agency earned its certification as an official Medicaid waiver provider, receiving a perfect evaluation with zero deficiencies from Kentucky's Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (DDID). This triumph not only validated Blue Sky's innovative methods but also set a new standard in the delivery of services for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Journey from Certification to Industry Leadership: “I know a Champion Culture!”
Blue Sky received its Medicaid Provider number on January 13th, 2015. The agency officially opened its doors for business with its team of co-founders, including Brittney (Such) McConville, and began serving its first clients on March 1st, 2015. This marked the beginning of a new era in case management for the agency.
From these humble beginnings, Blue Sky quickly expanded by recruiting talented case management contractors and receiving Medicaid member referrals. These strategic moves have propelled it to become one of the largest and most progressive case management agencies in Kentucky, filled with industry stars and driving innovation in healthcare solutions for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Blue Sky stands for "Flying Forward" to provide High-Quality, Person-Centered Case Management Services that are Accessible 24/7.
Through the adoption of advanced technologies, Blue Sky utilizes **MyInterCare**, a mobile, web-based technology (SaaS) platform designed for case managers to support seamless communication and service delivery. Innovative & Resilient COVID-19 Pandemic Response from 2020 to 2023
Navigating the pandemic together, Blue Sky proactively lobbied Medicaid to establish Tele-Visit protocols, ensuring continuous client services despite face-to-face restrictions. Its quick action during the pandemic secured $52,000 to expand Tele-Health services for remote and virtual access with clients and families.
Blue Sky empowered its clients with essential electronics, internet access, and crucial financial aid for housing and living expenses. Combatting social isolation, the agency hosted engaging virtual game nights, magic shows, and community events. Safety was its highest priority, ensuring masks and cleaning supplies were distributed to all. Blue Sky's holistic approach provided steadfast support during uncertain times, fostering resilience and connection. This holistic support helped the clients through tough times.
